Teer Glossary

Every teer term, plainly explained — FR, SR, house, ending, common number and more.

A

Announcement

The moment the counter's officials declare the FR or SR number, usually by writing it on a board and calling it out. Everything published anywhere else traces back to this moment.

Archive

Past results kept date by date. Useful for checking old tickets and studying how often numbers appeared — never for knowing what's next.

Arrow count

The number of arrows that hit the target in a round. Only the last two digits of the count become the result: 1,247 arrows gives 47.

Assam Teer

Another name for the Khanapara game, used because the Khanapara counter sits near the Assam–Meghalaya border by Guwahati. Same draw, same timings.

B

Bhutan Teer

A separate teer game run in Bhutan with its own counters, timings, and results. It is not connected to the Meghalaya games.

C

Chart

A table of previous results, usually date-wise with FR and SR columns. Players scan charts for common numbers and patterns.

Common number

A number that has appeared often in the archive over recent weeks. A statement about the past, not a forecast.

Counter

The licensed betting counter where players place bets and where results are first announced. Each game runs through its own counters.

D

Direct number

A bet placed on the exact two-digit number, e.g. 47 itself, rather than on its house or ending.

Double

A number with both digits the same: 00, 11, 22, up to 99. Ten of the hundred possible results are doubles.

Dream number

Numbers linked by tradition to things seen in dreams — a snake, a river, a wedding. Charts map each symbol to FR and SR picks. Folklore, not method.

E

Ending

The second digit of a result. In 47, the ending is 7. Bets can target an ending alone, covering ten numbers (07, 17, … 97).

F

Formula

Folk arithmetic on yesterday's results used to shortlist today's numbers. A ritual, not a calculation.

FR

First Round. The first archery round of the day, with its own arrow count and its own result.

G

Guti

The slip or token handed over at a counter when a bet is placed. It records the number, the amount, and the round.

H

Hit number

A number appearing in the very recent results — the last few days. "Hot right now" is still a statement about the past.

House

The first digit of a result. In 47, the house is 4. A house bet covers all ten numbers from 40 to 49.

I

IST

Indian Standard Time, the timezone every teer timing is given in. Shillong's first round lands around 3:45 PM IST.

J

Jowai and Ladrymbai

Two separate teer games in the Jaintia Hills, each declaring its own FR and SR pair. They are not one combined result.

Juwai Teer

A teer game listed under the Juwai name, with its own daily FR and SR results and its own timings.

K

Khanapara Teer

The afternoon game at the Khanapara counter near Guwahati, on the Assam–Meghalaya border. Also called Assam Teer or Guwahati Teer.

KHASA

Khasi Hills Archery Sports Association. The body that oversees the Shillong teer draws at Polo Ground.

L

LIVE

A result page updating as numbers are announced, without needing a reload. "Live" describes the publishing speed, not a video stream.

Lucky numbers

Five numbers picked at random per game each day, for fun. Same one-in-a-hundred chance as any pick.

M

Morning Teer

The early sessions — Shillong Morning and Khanapara Morning — drawn late morning. Separate games with their own results.

N

Night Teer

An evening session drawn after the afternoon games. Own counters, own FR and SR.

O

Off day

A day with no game: Sundays for the afternoon draws, plus public holidays. Archives mark these rather than leaving gaps unexplained.

P

Polo Ground

The field in Shillong where the flagship teer draws happen under KHASA. The name comes up wherever Shillong results are discussed.

R

Result

The two-digit number declared for a round: always 00 to 99, never 100. Two results a day per game: FR and SR.

Round

One of the two daily shooting sessions: the first round (FR) or the second round (SR). Each round has its own count and its own number.

S

Shillong Teer

The flagship game at Polo Ground, Shillong, overseen by KHASA. The most followed draw in teer.

SR

Second Round. The day's second archery round, shot after the first, with its own count and result.

T

Target number

A number shortlisted for the day from charts, formulas, or dreams. A shortlist is not a prediction.

Teer

The Hindi word for "arrow". The game is archery turned into a numbers draw: the last two digits of the arrow count become the result.
